Stone “Jali work” is a delicate art of hand carving. A single piece of STONE is first hand-carved into the desired form, then completely manually hollowed out from within. The outer shell is then painstakingly hand-carved to look like a"Jali "or mesh of intricate designs and patterns. There are no joints and no glue is ever used. This delicate craft has been practised in India for centuries on the soft stone such as Gorara stone ( also known as Indian soapstone).
